About Tuff Cuff
Why Tuff Cuff?
Because some of the most vulnerable areas on the ice are also some of the least protected.
Tuff Cuff was created after recognizing a problem with traditional hockey equipment: the space between the top of the skate and the bottom of the shin guard can leave the ankle, Achilles tendon, and lower calf exposed.
A hard puck can strike either side of the ankle, while contact with another player’s skate blade can put the Achilles tendon and lower calf at risk. Injuries in these areas can mean extensive treatment and valuable time away from the ice.
From Necessity to Protection
Tuff Cuff wasn’t created to replace existing hockey equipment. It was developed to help protect the area that existing equipment can miss.
The result is a lightweight protective cuff constructed from impact-resistant polycarbonate paired with high-density, shock-absorbing foam. The flexible construction allows the cuff to move naturally around the ankle while providing an added barrier against impact.
Built For Hockey Players
Protection only works if players are comfortable wearing it.
Tuff Cuff is designed to be simple to install, adjustable for comfort, and flexible enough to allow unrestricted movement on the ice. Once secured through the skate’s top eyelet, the adjustable strap helps keep the cuff positioned over the vulnerable area above the skate.
